Shena and PJ in Greece

Sep 11,2024

Training with PJ brought us much closer.

PJ is a smart Miniature Poodle and he showed so much confidence. He was proud of all the tricks he learned. It was an important way for us to bond.

PJ is a rescue dog. He was abandoned (or lost) at 2 or 3 years old in Tennessee. He was a well-trained and well-loved dog, it seemed that he just had bad luck. I adopted him when I lived in NYC. He has been my constant companion and has traveled and lived in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Mexico, Greece, and Spain. He sometimes struggles with some separation anxiety but I believe the training helps his confidence. It helps me to know my best friend can almost always be with me.

We spent time on Aegina Island off the coast of Greece recently. I was a little worried about the experience here because people had said Greeks are not super dog-friendly but our experience has been truly special. Everyone is so kind to him and makes him feel welcome - on the beach, on tours, in restaurants, and even in some grocery stores. I would encourage others to not be worried about visiting Greece. The people really love animals here.
