Benefits Of Getting An Attorney Letter For Your Service Dog Team

1. The Attorney Letter is excellent documentation, in addition to your vest, that you have a service animal and are covered under the ADA.

2. A landlord or homeowner’s association must provide reasonable accommodation by waiving a no-pet rule or a pet deposit for ALL SERVICE ANIMALS under the ADA.

3. Employers must allow service animals in the workplace under the ADA.

A fully trained service dog has the following rights:

• Accommodation without charge or deposits in no-pets buildings.

• The ability to board the cabin of planes without fees.

• Public access rights to places like stores, restaurants, and public venues.

Once your service dog has been fully trained to perform a task or job relating to your disability and can pass a public access test, you, as the handler, are personally responsible for certifying that your dog has mastered all of the skills and training needed to qualify as a service animal.

Although getting an attorney letter for a service dog is not required by law and is optional, many service dog handlers find having an official letter convenient when facing the public, especially handlers whose disabilities are not visible. The letter can help communicate the dog’s purpose and avoid intrusive questions by members of the public. We would like to affirm that we abide by the regulations in regard to service and companion animals. These require a licensed mental health professional to verify that the handler's diagnosis has not changed and that an Emotional Support Animal or a Service Animal is still needed as part of their treatment. We hereby declare that this letter is valid for one year from the date of issue.

After I place my order, how long should I expect to wait before receiving my order?

Once we receive your order, you will typically receive your order within 1 - 2 weeks. US-based orders can take from 10 days to 3 weeks to reach you once shipped, we do not guarantee a delivery date as this will depend on USPS.

Are you able to ship internationally and outside of the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.?

Yes. Orders being shipped outside of the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom are eligible for specific countries and areas. Please contact us at [email protected] for more information.

What is your return policy?

A hard copy of the letter will be sent to you via mail. If you ordered a 24-hour digital access priority, the letter will be also sent to your email inbox in PDF format.

Please note that all letters are non-refundable, as these orders are processed immediately and given priority attention by the attorney. Please note that it is ultimately up to the landlord or airline to accommodate your Service Dog request. Unfortunately, some landlords and airline agents are averse to Service Dogs or unaware of Service Dog rules and will unjustly deny your federally protected right to be accompanied by a Service Dog. We will provide support to help you navigate any issues that may arise, but we cannot offer refunds for events outside of our control, i.e. if your landlord or airline rejects your Service Dog request in violation of your rights. We also cannot offer refunds if your landlord or airline denies your Service Dog pursuant to a valid reason under the Fair Housing Act or Air Carrier Access Act – for example if your Service Dog poses a threat to the health and safety of others or has damaged property. We also cannot issue refunds for regulatory changes that affect Service Dogs or for airlines that change their policies regarding Service Dogs.

If you are unsure about your order please reach out to us first with any questions before placing an order, as we have limited resources available to support clients who really need our help.
